Catapulting herself into her own online e-commerce, Kathy Smith, designer transformed herself into a full time entrepreneur. Ditching occupational therapy, Smith said she has no regrets. If anything, she said, she has learned how to use her skills to maneuver through life’s obstacles.

What is your profession?

I am a full-time entrepreneur. I recently completed college for occupational therapy, but I decided to dedicate my time and energy 100% into my own business. I do not have any regrets on my decision of being a business woman.

What services does your job offer?

I currently have an online business where I sell activewear clothing mens and women. I am hoping to add more to my mens collection, and add kids clothing later down the line.

How did you become successful in your field?

I am nowhere near where I want to be, however, consistency is essential in this field. Each day I am accomplishing new goals, and prevailing through every obstacle. I have mastered many skills and learning techniques that have helped me reach success, but I am still climbing up the ladder.

What stresses or obstacles do you have to deal with in your profession?

The stress obstacles I deal with on a daily basis are making sure each new style I release is liked by my customers. Sometimes it can be hard picking the appropriate style for different individuals with different styles and taste. If I drop a new style and 70 percent of customers do not take a liking to it, I will lose money, and in this business who wants to lose money?

At what age, or when, did you first start using cannabis and CBD products?

I started using cannabis/CBD products over 10 years ago, I was introduced to it in high school by some close friends.

How often do you integrate cannabis and or CBD into your routine?

I use cannabis/CBD products three to five times a week depending on what type of day I have. Cannabis/CBD products calm me down after a hectic and stressful day.

What positive effects does cannabis/CBD have on you?

The positive effects cannabis has on me are relaxation and peace of mind. Being an entrepreneur, you are tested daily and have different deadlines you need to meet — orders shipped, marketing and more. The fact that I can take my CBD and have a peace of mind/relaxation afterwards is essential.

What is your favorite strain of cannabis and why?

Honestly, I do not have a favorite. It might sound crazy, but each brand I had thus far has been great, but now that this question has been presented I may need to start comparing brands I like best.

What is your favorite CBD product and why?

My favorite CBD products are the gummy kind. As a kid I always loved gummy bears, so being able to take it in that form is a major plus.

What advice could you give to women that want to follow in your footsteps?

How has Covid affected your business and personal life?

Covid-19 has affected my business in a positive way because with people working from home they shop online more, especially because everything has been locked down. However, the downside is many people have lost their jobs due to Covid-19, which means fewer people are ordering online that are out of work.

What has 2020 taught you?

2020 has taught me to be grateful for everything I have, you can lose it all in a drop of a dime. It has taught me to save more, you never know when you’ll need it for a rainy day.

In so many words explain what goes through a woman’s mind throughout a day?

I cannot speak on what goes through other women’s minds, but I can speak on what goes through mines. I am constantly thinking of new ways to become a better person to everyone that is in life. I always think of new business opportunities, and what I need to do to get to the next level. Honestly, my brain is always going nonstop. I wish I could turn it off sometimes, because I’ll literally drown in my own thoughts.

What advice can you give a man from a woman’s point of view on romance and life?

The advice I can give a man from my POV is understanding and communication. Communication is essential and to communicate effectively you need to understand. Many times we talk and talk, but without understanding, what are we saying? That’s why understanding is important.

What are your thoughts on a woman being elected Vice President of the United States?

Honestly, I am not into politics like I should be. I do not feel any type of way. I can only pray regardless if male or female that they make the right decisions, and lead by example. I do believe that one day we will have a woman as president, daily the world is changing, and I think this will happen sooner than we all think.
