Some Call D8 ‘Diet Weed

Delta-8 has been referred to as “diet weed” because of its low amounts of THC, so it doesn’t produce the high that many look for in weed products.

Instead, it is used for pain relief, especially for senior citizens who use Delta-8 to avoid opioid addiction. According to CFAH, chronic pain, and inflammation are common in those struggling with arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, and multiple sclerosis, which many seniors are diagnosed with.

Other Benefits of Delta-8

Delta-8 is also aids to relieve anxiety by easing muscle tension and relieving stress. It can also boost your appetite for those experiencing an eating disorder. Lastly, if you suffer from insomnia, it can induce sedation and get your sleeping cycle back on track.

Delta-8 Flower VS Weed Flower

It may be a surprise to some that a Delta-8 flower is simply a hemp flower with Delta-8 components added to it, so the distinction ends here.

According to Vida Optima, manufacturers produce Delta-8 THC from CBD by the process of isomerization. This can be achieved since Delta-8 and CBD are isomers, which are compounds that have the same. Plus, the high is different.

How Is Delta-8 THC Added To A Hemp Flower?

One method of creating a Delta-8 flower is by dipping the hemp flower in distilled Delta-8 liquid. However, Vida Optima said this method creates a “soggy Delta-8 flower” which makes it difficult to produce heavy smoke and might be too potent for new users.

Another method is spraying the Delta-8 liquid onto the flower, which creates a less soggy flower that is easier to smoke, as well as lower potency, which is more enticing for new users.

A more creative method is solidifying the Delta-8 liquid and turning it into a powder. The next step is dusting the hemp flower with the Delta-8 powder and won’t make the flower soggy or too potent. Much like “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” this method seems “just right.”

Components are just arranged differently. Isomerization rearranges the components of Delta-8 and converts them into Delta-8 THC, which is distilled and then added to a hemp flower.
